A downloadable game for Android

Made in two weeks for an educational project by myself, Rhys Veale-Chan, and my colleague, Mitchell Heath (TheOriginal201).

Taking it's name from the first rule of boss battles, Don't Stand in the Fire is a boss-rush puzzle game prototype, wherein players must memorise attack patterns and continuously reposition themselves to avoid taking damage. Developed in a 3D Low-Poly art style for Android, the game combines the need for quick thinking and quick fingers, challenging players to beat three unique levels with increasing difficulty.

The game was inspired by boss battles in MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV, and the embarrassing number of players who don't learn the mechanics for these important encounters, inevitably wasting their party's time. Don't Stand in the Fire aims to motivate such players towards learning attack patterns and becoming better party members, in a fun environment free of social pressure!

Special thanks to our colleagues, Jarrad Zuks for his help with programming, and Patrick Gage for his "Golem" boss 3D model.
